Halloween Safety Tips

Moms, dads, princesses, and monsters, listen to what I have to say about safe ways to have fun this Halloween. There are a lot of things that you can do to be sure to come home happy with loads of candy treats and there are also dangers out there that you should know about.

First it is important to be seen. If your costume is black and it is dark outside carry a flashlight. Not everyone who is driving will be a mommy or daddy taking their ghoulies and fairies around. Move in groups and don’t trick-or-treat alone.

As kids your parents actually got away with a lot more. Things have changed and society has changed. Watch out for cars, don’t go up to a house that does not have the porch light on, wear reflective tape on your clothing (especially if you are Dracula or Darth Vadar). Avoid wearing those plastic masks that restrict your vision. Each person should have a flashlight, blinking lights, or glow sticks so that others see you.

Do NOT eat any candy that you get until your parents get a chance to inspect it. NEVER eat anything homemade or loosly wrapped. Don’t eat fruit or popcorn balls, either. Thanks to the wickedness of society, even good hearted people cannot be trusted.

So, keep your eyes open, your colors bright, don’t eat anything on your adventure, stay in groups and watch out for cars and your Halloween will be safe and productive.

Trick or Treat!
