When Is Daylight Savings Time Fall 2009?

It’s Today!

It is that time of year again to set the clocks back as daylight savings in 2009 is over. Now, expect things to get darker one hour earlier in the evenings. There are many reasons for having daylight savings time. It allows for extra time to spend playing outdoor activities when the weather is the warmest and the days are the longest. It has been shown to save energy costs as well, since the lights do not have to be turned on until later in the evening.

Daylight saving time (DST) is normally not used during the winter, and sometimes people will leave for work or school in the dark and then come home in the dark too. Normally, this is not as big of an issue since it is too cold for most outdoor activities that need to be played with the sunlight. However, this can cause a mild depression in some people, so consult your physician if you feel concerned.

Do not forget to enjoy the one extra hour of sleep you get by turning back the clocks this fall.

Did you take advantage of the extra hour of sleep?
