Every year when Christmas is upon us there are the festivities, excitement and traditions that make every single event memorable. One such tradition that has continued to remain a part of the overall experience of Christmas is the official tracking of Santa by NORAD. What happens is every single year they will track the overall progress of Santa around the world and will report to children where he is at on his infamous journey around the world.

According to early reports from NORAD, it appears as if Santa has once again began his Christmas journey to homes throughout the world with them tracking him over parts of Japan on his way to the first stop in Australia. His anticipated route this Christmas is for him to continue on his journey to Asia, Europe and finally North America.

What this shows is how special the holiday season has become throughout the world as even the military has become involved in the tradition dating back to 1955, when a newspaper mistakenly published NORAD’s phone number as the Santa hot line. Not wanting to disappoint the kids the Air Force immediately began supplying the public with information every year on Santa’s progress around the world.
