The Top Ten Dirtiest Hotels in the United States

Based on customer reviews, the website, TripAdvisor.com came up with the top ten dirtiest hotels list in the United States. They are as follows: 1)Heritage Marina Hotel- San Francisco, California
2) Days Inn- Eureka/Six Flags, in Eureka, Missouri
3) Tropicana Resort Hotel -Virginia Beach, Virginia
4) Super 8-Virginia Beach, Virginia
5) Quality Inn- Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania
6) New York Inn -New York, New York
7)Parisian Hotel & Suites – Miami Beach, Florida
8)Capistrano Seaside Inn – Capistrano Beach, California
9) Desert Lodge- Palm Springs, California
10)Continental Oceanfront Hotel at South Beach- Miami Beach, Florida

The Heritage Marina Hotel in San Francisco, California, was voted the dirtiest hotel in the United States because the hotel had bedbugs and the carpet had vomit residue on it. The mattresses smelled of urine and hookers were lurking in the hallway.

When you stay at a hotel, you don’t realize how many things have germs. Bedspreads don’t get changed after every guest and there are bedbugs everywhere. They usually hide in the baseboards and in parts of the mattress. It is best not to put your luggage on the bed, because the bedbugs can get into your suitcases.

The sheets often have stains on them that you can’t see, but if you use a black light, you would be amazed at all the stains that are uncovered.

We went to Miami Fl. and stayed at the Continetal Oceanfront Hotel at South Beach Miami Florida and it was the nastyest hotel ever!!!It had mold in it and the beds curled up in the middle. Rooms were very nasty!!!

I live in Stroudsburg PA and i usually dont reccommend any hotels in my area, unless you want to stay at the local hospital(which is cleaner by the way).

Reading this makes me never want to go away ever again. It should be illegal to charge people to stay in rooms as filthy as that….

  3. Deb Riley says:

The Four Seasons Motel in Rapid City, should be on this list. The room hadn’t been cleaned in months. We even found a newspaper from April. It was August when I checked in. Bugs everywhere. The mattress had a big hole in it.

Went to a small descent looking hotel in Santa Cruz, Ca. near the boardwalk. Checked in at the office, Walked to the room, Opened the door, looked at the wife and said “we’re out of here”. Went to the office to get our money back, the manager smiled and said “no problem”.
Before ever checking in, I now ask to inspect the room I might be renting.

  6. Vanda says:

This is amazing to me! My camper is cleaner than these hotel rooms! I hope the hotels are either being shut down or the owners and managers are doing something about this!

  7. Danno says:

This is why I’d rather stay at a bed and breakfast…or just camp out.

  8. LeRoy says:

Ewwwwwww!!! YUCK! After reading this story I now have SERIOUS reservations about staying at any hotel/motel!!! Definitely will be buying a Black Light AND take ‘Danno’s’ advice on here!
