While all products are required to go through some level of verification to ensure that they are safe for use, many products each month end up being recalled as consumers find out flaws of the product that were not found during the testing phase. In May 2012, there have been several products recalled by their manufacturers.
The first product that is being recalled is a blender provided by Select Brands. The Kitchen Selectives 6-Speed Blender has been found to separate at the base, which ends up leaving the rotating blade exposed while the plastic cover has fallen off. This clearly provides a significant hazard to users. Another significant recall is a kitchen table and chair set, being recalled by Stoneberry. This recall is taking place on all products sold between January and March 2012. During normal use, the table and chair have shown that they can break down and collapse, creating a significant hazard to the user.
