Remains Found Of Carleton University Student Nadia KajoujiBrampton- Friends and family members of missing Brampton teenage Nadia Kajouji are stating that her body has been found in the Rideau River.
There was a body pulled from the Rideau River on Sunday. Officials in Rideau are only stating that a body has been recovered, but the family and friends of Kajouji are stating that it is the young girl.
Nadia Kajouji, aged 18 years, is a first year policy and public affairs student at Carleton University, and has been missing since March 9th. Police said at that time that she had reportedly been estranged from her boyfriend.
A boater on the Rideau River spotted the body of a young woman in the swollen Rideau River on Sunday about 11:15am. Ottawa police pulled the body from the river; there was no sign of foul play or trauma.
“We were obviously hoping for a different outcome,” said Candita Martens-Mills. Mills is the aunt of Nadia Kajouji, and a member of the family who has remained vigilant in the watch for the missing girl.
“We still have a lot of unanswered questions,” said Martens-Mills.
Police wont confirm the identity until after an autopsy is done, which is scheduled for today.
