Vancouver, B.C. 9eCanadaNow) - In a new excerpt from a book that is about to be published, a claim exists that representatives from the Conservative party attempted to give Chuck Cadman, Independent MP, a $1 million dollar insurance policy bribe.
The claim is being made that members of the Conservative Party tried to buy the vote of MP Cadman concerning a crucial confidence vote that occurred in 2005. It is reported by the same source that MP Chuck Cadman was outraged, and refused to even consider such an outrageous offer.
In his new book, “Like a Rock: The Chuck Cadman Story,” author Tom Zytaruk talks about the alleged attempted bribe, and the reaction of Cadman to it. Zytaruk writes that the attempted bribe took place in Cadman’s office just days before the 2005 “Big Vote.” The Vote in question had the potential to topple the Liberal Government in power at the time.
Zytaruk gives quotes from Dona Cadman, the Liberal MP’s wife. “They asked that he vote against the government, the Tories had a whole list of offers written down on paper,” said Dona Cadman. “Chuck bounced the Tories out of his office, and refused them, it made him outraged,” said Dona Cadman.
History recalls that MP Cadman in fact voted with the government in 2005, and supported the budget that was proposed at the time by the Liberal Government, and was quoted as saying that is what his constituents expected of him.
MP Cadman passed away in July 2005 after a long battle with skin cancer.
