Woodstock (ECN) - Police may not find the remains of 8 year old Victoria (Tori) Stafford. The search area has been widened, especially along Hwy. 401; however the police are no longer being directly aided by Terri-Anne McClintic at the search sites.
18 year old McClintic had been present during the police searches in an effort to assist the police in finding Tori’s body. She is still attempting to help find Tori’s remains, but will no longer accompany the police to search areas. McClintic’s charges have been changed to include first-degree murder.
Michael Thomas Rafferty, 28, is being charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping. According to attorneys involved, McClintic and Rafferty are to be tried separately.
Tori’s parents have now been informed by the police that, even as the search continues, the remains of Tori’s body may not be found. For Tori’s father, Rodney Stafford and Tori’s mother, Stafford’s ex-wife, closure will not come until the police are able to locate their daughter’s remains.
Tori disappeared after school on April 8. The 3rd grader was last seen on a surveillance video from the nearby high school walking away with an unidentified woman.
Family members can only wait, and hope the police are successful in their continuing search for the remains of Tori.
