The Search For Tori Goes On
|
Toronto (ECN) - For over two months, the search for eight year old Victoria Stafford has continued without pause. Ever since the girl, commonly known as Tori, disappeared on her way home from school back in early April, investigators have launched a massive search, unearthing as many clues as possible as they scoured the area surrounding the girl's home in Woodstock, Ontario. The biggest break in the case involved the arrest of two suspects, Michael Rafferty and Terri-Lynne McClintic, who are currently in police custody, both charged with the kidnapping and murder of the missing eight year old girl. While prosecutors continue to build their case against the two, the defense teams are scrambling to sort through the details to figure out their best defense. Yet, even as headway is being made on a legal front, investigators are running out of places to search for Tori's remains. Officials recently reported that they completed scouring the landfill outside of Woodstock, and teams are still doing extensive sweeps of the rural land that surrounds the small Ontario town where Tori lived. Despite the lack of progress in finding Tori, investigators vow to continue their search, though it may be small solace for Tori's grieving family. |
