Liberals Claim Minister Should Be Reined In

The tendency for a person to put their best foot forward, and sometimes put that same foot into their mouth was exhibited by the Tory Party on Friday.

Ottawa (eCanadaNow) - -The tendency for a person to put their best foot forward, and sometimes put that same foot into their mouth was exhibited by the Tory Party on Friday.

Tory MP Ron Anders compared the upcoming Beijing Olympics with the Nazi Olympic Games of 1936, which was some of the most infamous Olympic posturing ever seen on the world state.  Anders went on to describe China as a human rights abuser.

“The government keeps having gaffes like this that seem to keep growing by the hour,” said Rae. “The effort almost seems aimed to diminish the role of Canada in the eyes of other nations,” said Liberal Rob Rae.

Rae was strident in his accusations, and thought that Prime Minister Stephen Harper should begin to hold his MP members of his part to stricter accounting for what they say, especially off the cuff.

“We don’t want to insult nations to make human rights progress, we must engage these nations,” said Rae.

“We don’t need to be making comparisons of Nazi Germany and China, all that can do is inflame and anger China and the Chinese people,” said Rae.

There was no immediate response from PM Harper or his spokesman. It is known that the comments of overzealous MP’s at times have caused some due embarrassment for PM Harper, but that overall he has been supportive for the members of his party despite when they occasionally err in speech.
