London (ECN) - A British aeronautical engineer was messing around with the all new Google Earth, when he saw something that looked all to familiar. Off the coast of Africa where scientists think may be one of the locations of the lost city of Atlantis, the British engineer found a grid like area in the ocean. This area is about the size of the country whales, but in the picture it looks like a city street grid. The engineer found this location about six hundred mile of the coast of Africa, and immediacy thought about the pattern of a street grid.
If you do not know what the lost city of Atlantis is, it is a legendary city that disappeared into the ocean, according to the Greek philosopher Plato. The city was well known for its fabulous wealth, advanced civilization, and its natural beauty. There has always been debates on where the location might be, that is if even exists at all. Some say that a possible location for the lost city is in North Africa, right around where the British engineer found the image.
Google has a different idea for the apparent image of the lost city. Google released a statement saying that it is not the location for the city, but it was the patterns of sonar radars collected on boats. Google says that the lines reflect the path of boats as they gather data. The image looks all too real though, and the image is in the shape of a square that looks like an actual city block grid. But Google has dismissed any accusations that it is the location of the city, but the picture evidence is all too real. Google Earth has had a hand in many fascinating discoveries around the world, and the Google Satellites are all to thank. So with all of the Google discoveries through the years, why are they so quick to dismiss the accusation.
If you look at the image you will not know what to believe, it really looks like a city grid. You have to ask yourself why would Google be so fast to dismiss the findings unless they were really untrue. You would think that Google would want to have a hand in the discovery of a lost city that may or may not be true, so maybe they are positive why the lines appear as they do. If you are a Google Earth user, you can search the exact coordinates of the British engineers findings. To find the image you must search the coordinates, 31 15'15.53N, 24 15'30.53W. You have to make your own concussions on the controversial image, but it really looks all too real for Google to dismiss so quickly.
