Washington (eCanadaNow) - A teenage girl gave birth to her baby in the shower while she was home alone. She then proceeded to walk four blocks with the baby attached via an umbilical cord to the hospital.
17-year old Zochilt Parra gave birth to a baby boy before school on Wednesday morning.
There was no one home, she she walked to the hospital which was down the street from her house.
She arrived at the St. Mary Medical Center with the baby still attached via the cord.
Her parents were not home and according to reports, did not even know that the teen was pregnant with the baby.
The baby was suffering from hypothermia upon arriving at the hospital, but has since recovered and is now stable.
As of Thursday night, the newborn and mom were resting peacefully.
The baby boy is named Alejandro.
