Toronto Canada Actor Admits To ChargesToronto (eCanadaNow) - An actor familiar with Toronto audiences for his appearance in a beer commercial has pleaded guilty to charges of child pornography in a courtroom on Monday.
According to court statements made by Allison Dellandrea, attorney for the Crown, Robert Smith possessed images on DVD disk and on his computer including videos of babies through age 16 year old children being sexually violated.
Actor Robert Smith, aged 42 years, pled guilty when facing multiple counts of child pornography. Images of children as young as toddlers in lewd and dangerous situations, and various compromising sexual positions were seized off of Smith’s computer by police.
Smith pled guilty to three charges including a charge of making images of child pornography available to others in front of Crown Justice Robert Clark.
The attorney for Robert Smith had tried to challenge the evidence, which was uncovered as part of a larger worldwide sting operation involving child pornography on the Internet, as a violation of his privacy.
But Smith dropped his challenge of the evidence, and pled guilty.
“Smith possessed images of children being violated while blindfolded, in bondage and tied up, and adults engaging in sexual activity with children against their will,” stated Crown Prosecution attorney Dellandrea.
Some of the images of children have fortunately been identified and those children have been rescued in the larger worldwide anti pornography effort.
