Since Farrah Fawcett entered the hospital several weeks ago, her deteriorating health has continued to worsen. Several published reports say that friends and family members are showing up at her bedside to give their final goodbyes. Another report has indicated that Fawcett has been given her last rites by a priest.
According to People Magazine, Fawcett was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago although there are conflicting reports. Fawcett's publicist has said only that she has "continued to receive treatment for her worsening condition."
The bad news regarding Fawcett's health has surfaced a few days after her longtime partner, Ryan O'Neal confessed to Barbara Walters on 20/20 that he asked Fawcett to be his bride. She reportedly agreed. That episode will air on Friday this week.
Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006. When the cancer was found, it was already quite advanced and despite special treatments in Germany, her condition has continued to worsen over the past few months. O'Neal and Fawcett have been together since 1979 and they have a 24-year-old son named Richard.
Fawcett was known for her beautiful blonde hair and was an iconic part of the 70's.
Since being diagnosed with advanced anal cancer, she has been working to bring awareness to people regarding the disease. She worked to make sure people knew to get tested early and often after 50 so that if they were diagnosed, doctors would be able to catch it early. If this type of cancer is caught early, chances of survival increase sharply.
