Patrick Swayze Denies Heart Attack Reports: Cancer Update

Patrick Swayze has not suffered a heart attactk, contrary to recent reports.

New York (ECN) - Patrick Swayze has not suffered a heart attactk, contrary to recent reports.

His spokesperson says, “He’s well. He’s continuing his treatment and doing very well, actually. Contrary to reports, he did not suffer a heart attack and has even gained a little weight.”

After being seen in many tabloids across the world in April of 2009 looking extremely thin and sickly, a much healthier-looking Patrick Swazye appreas to have gained control of his health in recent press photos.

The 56 year-old actor, who is most famous for his unforgetable role in the film Dirty Dancing, has been fighting a very difficult battle against pancreatic cancer, a disease that most do not recover from. He was diagnosed with the disease in the early months of 2008 and has since undergone a series of radiotherapy treatments which resulted in rapid weight and hair loss.

Fortunately, Swazye seems to have pulled through and is looking much better these days. According to recent press photos, the actor has grown much of his hair back and has put on some of the needed weight that was lost over the course of his treatments. Swazye is still undergoing post-radiotherapy treatments to prevent the cancer from returning.

According to medical statistics, only thirteen percent of those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer actually survive the disease and are able to live a normal life afterwards. Many speculated that Swazye would not live to see the end of his battle, however judging from the actor's recent appearance, it looks as though he might be around longer than expected.
