ESPN has become the story behind the story, of Erin Andrews appearing in the nude filmed through a peephole in a hotel room. Both ESPN and Erin Andrews' representatives acknowledged it was her and have threatened legal action. The NY Post among others have shown purposely blurred photos of Erin Andrews. In response ESPN has not allowed NY Post reporters to appear on their shows.
The NY Post has responded by blaming ESPN for the whole incident, by publicizing it by means of sending a letter to an obscure website which had posted the video. Had they not sent a letter, very few if anyone would have been apprised of the existence of the video.
The controversy continues with ESPN being blamed for not providing sufficient security to avoid the incident. Others are claiming that it will do wonders for Erin's career in the long-run and what she will earn from this added notoriety will more than compensate her for the embarrassment. A small minority is claiming that to be filmed nude nowadays is not as big a deal as in the past and basically why should someone care?
Keep posted for further details. The publicity ESPN is getting cannot be bad for them either. They should be able to pick up some added advertising revenues.
