Jon Gosselin Withdraws Over $200,000 from Joint Back Account

Jon Gosselin has withdrawn $230,000 from him and his ex-wife’s joint bank account. This comes days after Gosselin announced that he would no longer participate in TLC’s hit show, “Jon and Kate Plus Eight.” Last week, he also filed a “cease and desist” order against TLC, which pulled his children from the show. In an interview with Larry King last week, Jon claimed that he had “an epiphany” and suddenly realized that the show was not good for his young children.

Kate is alleging that her husband had no right to take the money, and she is trying to get it back from him. In an interview with NBC on Monday, she said, "He took $230,000 of the $231,000 we had. I have a stack of bills. The last thing I wanted was to do this show and end up not being able to pay our bills."

Marty Singer, Kate Gosselin’s attorney, told CBS that Jon was not authorized to take the money. According to Singer, Gosselin did not notify his ex-wife about the withdrawal although a court ruled that it must approve of such transactions beforehand. As a result, Kate’s family law attorney is expected to appear in court on Monday to argue that Jon be held in contempt of the court.

Kate Gosselin claims that since Jon quit the show and no longer has any source of income, this is just a desperate attempt for him to get money.
