Hollywood (eCanadaNow) - Two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks has stated that he supports Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama for president.
He stated that Obama reminds him a lot of John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan, and apparently is his choice to lead the U.S.
Hanks stated "As an official celebrity, I know my endorsement as just made your mind up for you."
Hanks announced his support in a video message on his MySpace webpage called "Beware: Celebrity Endorsement."
Hanks stated that the "character and vision" of Obama won his vote.
He also cited the "high road" Obama has taken during the campaign as being a major reason for his decision.
51-year old Hanks stated that the Democratic nominating contest has been historic no matter what happens.
