
Various Measurements Reveal Climate Change Is Affecting Ice PackToronto- While out of the sight and reach of most people the fate of the Arctic Sea Ice is still a condition that affects people, and it is rapidly disappearing, melting into oblivion.
Recent studies are showing that both the amount of the Arctic Ice Sheet, and Pack Ice from various locations around and north of the Arctic Circle are disappearing. Even Ice pack that has never been thawed during the summertime has not been safe from the melting conditions.
The World Wildlife Fund presented a report this week to the Arctic Council, and the results were not promising. There are a number of factors that were not even being considered until recently.
Pollution, greenhouse gases, and the overall tendency toward warming and climate change are all factors that have not been considered in the formation and existence of the Arctic Ice pack, until recently. These are all suspected with contributing to the current lack of Arctic Ice Pack.
The report to the Arctic Council is rather bleak in its findings. It was comprised of different studies and papers that were published since the 2005 Climate Impact Assessment of the Arctic.
The Arctic Ice Pack may be disappearing, and worse case scenarios place the possibility of its complete disappearance from five to thirty two years. This is a sobering situation that has a worldwide footprint.
