Live Earth Recap

On Saturday the world turned their attention towards the fight against global warming at Live Earth.

Toronto (eCanadaNow) - On Saturday the world turned their attention towards the fight against global warming at Live Earth.

As one of the biggest concert events in history Live Earth had concerts happening simultaneously in Japan, Australia, Brazil, U.K., U.S., China, South Africa and Germany.

The Black Eyed Peas, Beastie Boys and the Foo Fighters all performed at the London show. The concert came to a close with Madonna giving a lively performance singing her new single "Hey You".

Lenny Kravitz and Pharrell performed at the almost cancelled concert in Brazil and Joss Stone gave it her best shot with a less than stellar crowd at the show in South Africa.

Linkin Park had the crowd in a frenzy in Tokyo as they gave a rocking performance and Snoop Dogg and Shakira held it down in Germany.

Wolfmother and Jack Johnson participated in the Australian leg of the tour.

Fall Out Boy, Kanye West, AFI and Akon brought New Jersey to their feet. Alicia Keys gave a stirring rendition of Marvin Gaye's "Mercy, Mercy, Me" and also performed a new song off her forthcoming album.

Al Gore capped off the show in New Jersey thanking everyone who supported the event.
