Washington (eCanadaNow) - A new study has shown that adopted American children are more likely to suffer from mental health problems compared to kids who are not adopted.
The study was carried out at the Minnesota Center for Twin and Family Research at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
They looked at data from 514 internationally adopted kids, as wella s 178 adopted kids in the U.S.
They compared them to 540 non-adopted kids of the same age.
They found that kids who were adopted in the U.S. were twice as likely to have a mental disorder or problem.
The study has been published in the May issue of the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.
