Washington (eCanadaNow) - A federal scientist has come out and stated that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ignored warnings about the troubles FEMA trailers used by victims of hurricanes.
The scientists stated that he advised his bosses of the problems with the FEMA trailers, stating to them that he health risks from formaldehyde were severe.
The CDC apparently ignored these warnings about the government-issued trailers though.
The scientists is Christopher De Rosa, formerly a top toxicologist for the U.S. government.
He told a Congressional panel of the mishaps with the warnings.
He stated in his written testimony that "I stated that such clinical signs were a harbinger of a pending public health catastrophe. I stressed the importance of alerting the trailer residents to the potential reproductive, developmental, and carcinogenic effects."
He stated the only response was that he should not talk about these matters in e-mails.
