CDC Increases Salmonella Cases To 383

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has come out and stated that the number of people who have fallen ill due to salmonella tomatoes has increased to 383...Boston (eCanadaNow) - The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has come out and stated that the number of people who have fallen ill due to salmonella tomatoes has increased to 383.

The number of cases of salmonella tomatoes now stands at 383 across 30 states plus the District of Columbia.

This increase is not due to any new infections, according to the CDC.

The increase is actually due to the fact that some states are doing a far better job at reporting cases, and stepping up surveillance for the outbreak.

In total, the number hospitalized due to the illness now stands at 48.

The ages of patients range from 1 to 88-years old.  47% of them are female.

The most recent illness was on June 5.
