Washington (ECN) - The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has come out and stated that the nationwide salmonella outbreak has finally come to an end.
The salmonella outbreak sickened around 1,400 people across the U.S., but is now gone for good it seems.
The CDC came out on Thursday and stated that the number of cases have been dropping since early July.
At this point it appears that things are finally returning to normal.
The investigation into the outbreak by the FDA and CDC revealed that jalapeno peppers were the main source of the salmonella bacteria, as well as serrano peppers.
The FDA stated that the contaminated jalapeno peppers and serrano peppers were grown in Mexico, and are no longer being circulated.
