Washington (eCanadaNow) - The death toll from the hand, foot and mouth disease in China has reached 32. The total number or reported cases has now topped 25,000.
The latest deaths from the disease come from the southern province of Guangdong, as well as neighboring province Guangxi.
In total, 32 young children have been killed from the disease thus far, with that number continuing to grow.
The reports tated that an 8-month-old girl died on Monday in Guangdong, she tested positive for the EV-71 virus.
The other death was of an 18-month-old boy in Guangxi.
He fell into a coma three days after contracting the disease.
China also confirmed that the number of cases is now up around 25,000, a 5,000 increase from just one day earlier.
