Washington (ECN) - An E. coli outbreak has hit students at Michigan State University.

The number of confirmed E. coli cases at Michigan State University has increased yet again this weekend.

The number of cases is now confirmed to be 19, as the number of students infected continues to grow.

Health officials increased the number of cases from 13 to 19 over the weekend.

They have all been confirmed to be infected with the same E. coli strain, 0157:H7.

Federal and state officials are investigating the outbreak, as they are unsure where it has originated from.
