FDA Gives Green Light To Eyelashes Drug From Allergan

The FDA has approved a new drug from Allergan Inc. which aims to enhance the appearance of your eyelashes.. ..Boston (ECN) - The FDA has approved a new drug from Allergan Inc. which aims to enhance the appearance of your eyelashes.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given approval to the glaucoma drug and will now be able to be sold for cosmetic purposes.

The brand name for this drug is Latisse and will be used to treat a condition known as hypotrichosis.  

The cosmetic use of the drug is going to help people have thicker, darker eyelashes.

The drug was given unanimous support from an FDA panel not too long ago.

This led to the approval by the FDA for the drug to be sold and used cosmetically.

The company is expected to begin selling the drug in early 2009.
