According to a new report, a common disease known as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) can lead to an increased risk of heart disease in children...Boston (ECN) - According to a new report, a common disease known as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) can lead to an increased risk of heart disease in children.

More than 6 million kids in the U.S. suffer from NAFLD according to reports.

The disease results from oils which form in liver cells.  This can lead to liver failure, among other things.

What they have found now that it also contributes to diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

Combined, these equal an increased risk of heart problems for kids.

The disease is so common according to researchers that 10% of all kids in the U.S. have it.

The report has been published in the July 8 issue of the journal Circulation.
