Boston (eCanadaNow) - The recall of the snack Veggie Booty which dozens of people to get sick from salmonella was contaminated from Chinese ingredients used for seasoning.
The reports state that the seasoning is used on Super Veggie Tings Crunchy Corn Sticks as well as Veggie Booty Snacks.
Both of the products had seasoning on it which had a lot of bacteria when tested. The ingredients for the seasoning came mainly from China according to Robert Ehrlich, president and chief executive of Robert's American Gourmet.
The Chinese government stated that 20% of the products made in China for domestic consumption failed standards for quality and safety.
The products in questions were mainly food-related. No other company product used this seasoning.
