Too little sleep tied to increased cancer risk
Toronto (ECN) - A scientific study has found that people who do not get enough sleep have an increased risk of developing cancer. The study was headed up by a man named Dr. James McClain who works for the United States National Cancer Institute.

The study was done over a ten year time frame. There were six thousand female case study participants. The female case study participants ranged in age from eighteen years of age to sixty five years of age.

The study showed that by getting a proper amount of sleep every night and exercising during the week that the women had fewer cases of cancer. The case subjects who did exercise but did not get the proper amount of sleep increased their chances of being diagnosed with cancer. They increased their chances of getting cancer to approximately forty seven percent.

It is important to get enough sleep every night. Many adults get less than six hours of sleep. It is important to be healthy and exercise but exercise alone will not help you to lessen your chances of being diagnosed with cancer.

You need to be fit and exercise but you also need to get the proper amount of sleep every night to reap the rewards. You need to have a balanced diet to stay healthy and maintain a good weight. Your body needs to rest every single day in order to keep all of your body functions operating properly.

If your body does not rest then it will require more vitamins and nutrients in order to stay active. You need to have at least eight hours of sleep every night to help keep your body in good working condition.

There is no way to tell what increases your risk of cancer because every person is different. However, being healthy and getting enough sleep and exercise can help you to boost your immune system which does work to fight off diseases and infections. There is no cure for cancer but by working towards prevention we are taking a necessary step on the journey to ending cancer all across the world.
