The majority of younger women were found to confuse symptoms such as fatigue, indigestion, stress, and others.

Researchers studied 30 women with an average age of 48-years old, all suffering a heart attack.

They were asked to think in the past about their time before the heart attack.

The women stated that they did not think they had any symptoms of a heart attack at all, not linking their symptoms to those of a real attack.

The co-author of the study, Judith Lichtman of the Yale School of Medicine stated that the younger women, for the most part, were clueless they were even at risk of heart disease.

The information was presented at the American Heart Association's Ninth Scientific Forum on Quality of Care and Outcomes of Research in Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke.
