Boston (eCanadaNow) - The Vancouver Canucks have hired Mike Gills as their new General Manager. Gills will move from being the former head coach of the Queen's Golden Gaels to an NHL GM.
The 49-year old Gills played nearly 250 games in the NHL with both Colorado as well as Boston.
He scored 33 goals and had 43 assists.
He helped the Bruins make it to the 1982 semi-finals as well.
Gills retired as a player in 1985 and then went back to school.
He also founded the M.D. Gills and Associates in 1994.
