Washington (eCanadaNow) - The National Hockey League is seriously considering implementing new goalie rules, which could result in adding even more scoring to the game of hockey.
The NHL, along with commissioner Gary Bettman, is thinking about adding in new goalie rules.
There are many rule changes in play which could become reality before the start of next season.
The rule changes are going to mainly revolve around the goalies. Things being considered include restricting the goalies from doing many things they commonly do every hockey game.
These consist of goalies not being allowed at all to play the buck behind the goal line, and will also not allow them to freeze up the puck as often.
It is also likely that the goalie equipment may be receiving a change, to make things such as the pads smaller.
We will have to wait and see as these will become much bigger issues during the off-season.
