UFC 103 will always be remembered as the long awaited return of heavyweight phenom Vitor Belfort and he didn't disappoint as he scored a first round knockout of UFC veteran Rich Franklin in the main event. Belfort dominated the whole match and scored the first round KO at the 3:02 mark of the first frame.
There was a huge undercard with several fighters redeeming themselves with wins from the last couple events and several getting setbacks. Other results on the card were: Vladamir Matuyshenko over Igor Porkajec, Eliot Marshall over Jason Brilz, Rickey Storey stopped Brian Foster by submission, Nik Lentz over Radello Oliveria, Jim Miller TKO'd Steve Lopez, Tomas Drwal choked out Drew McFriedes, Efrain Escudero TKO'd Cole Miller, and Tyson Griffin over Hermes Franca.
The big cards that were aired on the pay per view featured a cast of UFC veterans and they certainly put on a good show. Josh Koscheck, who had been on somewhat of a losing streak, scored a first round knockout over Frank Trigg at the 1:25 mark, by far one of his best performances. Paul Daley beat Martin Kampmann, then the final two fights were the most anticipated as Brazilian Junior Dos Santos defeated Russian Mirko Cro Crop by submission and then the main event was Belfort and his triumphant return.
