Chatham, Ontario (eCanadaNow) - Much of the Internet is open and accessible without a lot of interference or control. But at the Internet Provider level, some types of interference have a Canadian ISP pretty upset.
TekSavvy Solutions Inc is an Internet Service Provider that is based in Chatham, Ontario, and they are very irritated at the actions of Canadian Bell Inc. The management at TekSavvy is claiming that Canadian Bell uses shaping techniques, and that these Internet Management techniques slow down specific types of Internet traffic, causing brownouts and network slow times. This has the people at TekSavvy very upset.
“Bell is manipulating and screwing around with our data, which is not theirs to do so, it is not their property,” said Rocky Gaudrault. Mr. Gaudrault is the CEO of TekSavvy Solutions, and the main person voicing what many in the industry feel is a growing problem.
Some of the customers that TekSavvy have in their Internet provider service began to report that their connections were slowing way down last week, prompting an investigation by TekSavvy.
TekSavvy learned that Canadian Bell was engaging in the shaping type of traffic regulation. TekSavvy rents access to the Internet on Bell system cables and infrastructure.
