Edmonton - Now that her daughter is safely back at home a mother of a young Saskatchewan girl is speaking out about the dangers of the Internet and Children.
Early last Tuesday her daughter had crept out of their home and made her way to meet a person that she had met through the Internet. The young girl expected to be meeting a younger man that she was speaking to using the computer and the Internet.
She wound up meeting an older man, and being forced to leave with him in a Taxicab,
Daniel George Nickolson has been arrested and charged with abduction and other charges. Mr. Nickolson is alleged to have taken the young girl, age 14, and transporting her.
The young woman had left her mother a note, and using information found on the note the Winnipeg police were able to find the man and the young woman.
The girl is now back safe at home with her mother.
“There are just so many predators that seek to grab children out there, you have to be vigilant, and to watch, this can literally happen to any parent of a young person,” said the girls mother. The identities of the girl and her mother have not been released.
