Boston (eCanadaNow) - Ubisoft has announced that they are hard at work on Far Cry 2 which will be released on the Sony PS3 and Microsoft Xbox 360.
In the past Far Cry 2 was only confirmed for the PC, but it is now known that the highly-anticipated first-person-shooter will also be releasing on next-gen consoles PS3 and Xbox 360.
Far Cry 2 is not being developed by the same team that did the first game, Crytek. Crytek has been hard at work lately on other projects as Far Cry 2 will also not use the CryENGINE which was used in the hit PC game Crysis.
Ubisoft is creating a brand new engine to run the game called Dubia and it is looking like it will be just as good as CryENGINE.
The game will be more open-ended than the first Far Cry and you will play one of 11 possible mercenaries. 4 Different character classes will be available as well as vehicles, weather effects, and 50 square kilometers of the African savanna to blast.
