Washington (eCanadaNow) - Grand Theft Auto IV has managed to take in more than $500 million in its first week of sales on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
GTA IV sold more than 6 million units worldwide on both platforms, beating out the likes of Halo 3 and others.
The game, from Take-Two Interactive Software, received stellar reviews from critics, with most giving it a top score.
The game sold 3.6 million copies on launch day, bringing in $310 million and beating out the record held by Microsoft's Halo 3 by $10 million.
Xbxo 360 sales jumped 54% for the week following launch, with 2.3 million people playing on Xbox Live, The PS3 saw a similar increase.
