Macbook Air: Small Light And Poweful

In a wide series of tests, the Apple Laptop “Macbook Air” is proving to be a surprise.

Toronto (eCanadaNow) - In a wide series of tests, the Apple Laptop “Macbook Air” is proving to be a surprise.

There are elements of the laptop that are to be expected, but others that are less so.

Apple has introduced a laptop that has no standard Ethernet or optical drive built in, done so to conserve size and weight.  Both are available in USB as an add-on, but leaving them out is a surprise for what is
normally done by Apple Inc.

The MacBook Air is a laptop that is very small.  It stands just 0.76 inches, only about ¾ of an inch high at its tallest point. It is speedier than its predecessor, the Powerbook G4.

Apple Founder and CEO Steve Jobs recently addressed a group of computer manufacturers, and held up a manila envelope.  He withdrew a laptop from the envelope, the New Macbook Air.  Previous editions of Apple laptops have been at times pretty heavy.  The new Macbook Air weighs in at 1.36 kilos, or about three pounds total.

For a worker or business traveler looking for extremely lightweight and powerful, the MacBook Air is a good selection.

It is sleek and trim and has many positive features.  But the fact it has no built in Ethernet without using an exterior USB has many wondering if the trade off is worth it.

Futurehop lists the release date here in Canda as Feb 7th.
