According to reports, One Laptop Per Child is getting ready to drop Linux and make the switch to Windows XP..Boston (eCanadaNow) - According to reports, One Laptop Per Child is getting ready to drop Linux and make the switch to Windows XP.

OLPC chairman and founder, Nicholas Negroponte stated to the AP on Tuesday that things are changing.

He hinted that OLPC may be moving away from Linux, with the likely replacement to be the Windows XP operating sy stem.

The biggest factor in all of this though has been a money issue to say the least.

Many believe that if OLPC goes the way of Windows XP, the price of the laptop will go up.

This will take the group longer to reach their goal of a $100 laptop.
