Toronto (eCanadaNow) - For months, Canadians have anxiously been waiting for official word on when the hugely popular iPhone will hit Canadian soil --
legitimately.
For a brief momet, it seemed, we finally had an answer.
A Molson export advertisement in Quebec offered the iPhone as a possible prize for a contest. Claiming the phones would be on the Rogers network with retail price of $800CDN, Molson said that contest winners would receive their new phones, by January 2008.
However, Rogers said it has not made a deal to carry the new handset.
"This is news to us," Rogers Wireless spokeswoman Odette Coleman said. "We heard the news this morning and said 'What?'"
So, for now, if Canadians want the new iPhone, they will have to travel to the U.S. -- or order one on eBay.
