Washington (eCanadaNow) - President Bush has come out and stated that the Arizona Senator, John McCain, is a true conservative. This was an attempt by Bush to give a boost to McCain in the camp of conservatives.

Preisdent Bush has still yet to give any type of formal endorsement to a candidate, and White House Correspondent Paula Wolfson stated that this remark by Bush is not an endorsement of any kind.

Regardless McCain continues to lead the way in terms of delegates for the Republican Party's nomination.

Bush stated "I know him well.  I know his convictions.  i know the principles that drive him.  There is no doubt in my mind that he is a true conservative."

Bush stated on Friday that it is very important that the Republican party stay united heading into the election.

Bush stated "I think if John is the nominee, he has got some convincing to do to convince people that he is a solid conservative.  And I will be glad to help him if he is the nominee."
