Colleges Thinking About Lowering Drinking Age To 18

Colleges and universities across the U.S. are in support of lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18..Washington (ECN) - Colleges and universities across the U.S. are in support of lowering the drinking age from 21 to 18.

The leaders from over 100 colleges and universities across the U.S. have joined for the push to lower the drinking age.

The belief is that if they can do this, they will be able to reduce binge drinking among college kids.

Research has shown that binge drinking takes place before they go out to clubs and such at night.

Lowering the drinking age to 18 could push more casual drinking, and less binge drinking.

Many are against this though, including MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), as they feel it would lead to more fatal car crashes.
