Washington (eCanadaNow) - The husband of U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow has admitted to paying for the services of a prostitute for himself.
He admitted to police that he used the internet to make a date with a prostitute. He then stated that he paid her $150 for sex in a hotel room.
The husband, 46-year-old Thomas Athans, is the co-founder of TalkUSA Radio.
Police caught up with him while they were investigating Internet-based prostitution at a hotel.
Stabenow put out a statement saying the situation is "very disturbing and serious. Obviously, it's a deeply difficult and personal matter."
When polic arrived at the hotel, Athans told officers he just met a prostitute at the location, and paid for sex.
