
Houston (eCanadaNow) - A tiger attacked a keeper at the San Antonio Zoo on Saturday.
The zookeeper was attacked around 2:30 p.m. by the tiger on Saturday. The attack did not happen in a public part of the zoo according to spokeswoman Dawn Campos for the San Antonio Xoo. The keeper was critically injured though.
He was flown directly to the hospital after the attacks and was in critical condition. Campos stated that the manw as in his 20s and was actually a zookeeper who specialized in large cats such as a tiger. The tiger who did the attack was a Sumatran tiger around 5-years-old.
Campos stated that the zookeeper was "very very fortunate." and he is expected to be perfectly fine. The zoo was cosed after the attack and reopened on Sunday.
