What Happened To Baby Grace

A flood of tips are now pouring in after police in Texas asked for help identifying the remains of a young girl. Baby Grace.

Washington (eCanadaNow) - A flood of tips are now pouring in after police in Texas asked for help identifying the remains of a young girl.

Police are calling the unidentified girl "Baby Grace."

A local fisherman discovered the body of a Baby Grace in a storage box on the shore of Galveston Bay.

According to forensic investigators, the girl is between 2 and 3-years old, white and 32 to 35 inches tall and approximately 30lbs.  She had long blond or light brown hair, CNN reported.

Police estimate that Baby Grace has been dead for several weeks and likely died from a skull fracture.  The cause of death has yet to be determined.

"She is more to us than just a case number, more to us than just an unidentified body. She is very much a human being," said Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo of the Galveston County Sheriff's Office.

"She is someone's child, someone's grandchild, someone's cousin, someone's best friend, and to us, that is the most important part about this case," Tuttoilmondo said.

Police are working to rule out that the remains are not that of Madeleine McCann, a missing four-year-old British girl.

A vigil was held for the girl on Sunday.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Galveston County sheriff's Office at 409-766-2222, the agency's tip line at 866-248-8477 or any Crime Stoppers organization.
