Washington (ECN) - Now that Hurricane Gustav is past us, the attention is now being focused on a new storm, Hurricane Hanna.

Hurricane Hanna formed near the Bahamas justa s Gustav slamed into New Orleans and surrounding areas on Monday.

This marked the ninth storm of the year, and is likely to become another major threat to the U.S. and Caribean.

This showcases that we are likely to continue to have a busier than usual Hurricane season.

Hurricane Hanna has maximum winds of 80 mph late on Monday, and kept picking up steam.

From June 1st, to the peak of September 10th, we usually have 10 tropical storms.

This season so far, we already have had 9 storms.
