Ottawa (eCanadaNow) - The Federal Government is quietly posting on the Internet a major climate study that had parts of it leaked to the public prematurely.  It was a climate change study that the government wanted to release with some fanfare, and even paid a public relations firm $50,000 dollars for the big release.

But with leak of some of the elements of the study to the public, the whole study was quietly posted to the Internet.

The company of Hill and Knowlton was hired by the Natural Resources Canada to unveil the study that was painstakingly crafted by the research of more than 140 experts.

The new study details increase incidence of floods, wildfires and drought, and more summer days when the temperature is greater than 30 degrees C., and winters that are milder.  Climate change is causing a lot of issues in British Columbia, and there are definite threats to the province.

“Climate change is something that is occurring now,” said Ian Walker the associate professor of the Geography department at the University of Victoria.  Walker is one of the lead researchers for the study commissioned by the B.C. Government.

“Many people do not think that climate change is real, but it is real and it’s happening every day, and it gets worse every day,” said Walker.
