Ottawa (eCanadaNow) - - In a series of waves, the most recent heavy snowfall storm has caused a lot of disruption and problems across Eastern Canada.  Power outages, car accidents, and even one reported death have occurred as very heavy snowfall and high winds hit the area this weekend.

Toronto received over 30 centimetres of snow, as did Montreal.  Ottawa reported over 52 centimetres of snow over the weekend, and it is not known what the next week of weather will bring.  So far winter has been like an unwelcome guest that refuses to travel home.  The late season storm has visited Eastern Canada over the weekend and caused many travelers to become stranded or at the very least: delayed.

Across the Maritimes, Southern Ontario and Quebec violent winds and heavy snow caused a number of accidents and various disruptions of travel as people seeking a break from the winter cold ended up stranded in various terminals and airport waiting areas instead.

In snow related activity near Quebec City, snow and wind struck in a mean way.  The region saw 140 kilometres an hour wind, and a huge stranded area.  Nearly 60 motorists were stranded and trapped in their cars, to be saved by firefighters and police on snowmobiles and ATV vehicles responding to the storm.
