Toronto (eCanadaNow) - A complex storm system has begun to bring a wet and deluge soaked commute to much of the Ontario and surrounding area.
The storm seems to be in two separate parts.
In some area there is freezing rain and snow warnings, while in other parts the only issue is heavy continued snowfall.
GO transit reports that most buses are running a half hour late, and that some of the trains from both the west and east are delayed.
The Pearson area airport has reported a number of cancellations, and a great deal of delays for those flights that are getting though. Passengers are being urged to call their airlines to check on the flight status of current and anticipated flights over the next couple of days.
Following this first storm system, there is another front that is slated to come in, with more snow ice and rain. The second system is thought to bring mostly snow, and is anticipated to bring from twenty to thirty centimetres of snow to many regions in the area.
The group Environment Canada has acted in issuing a large-scale winter storm warning. The warning covers the area from Kingston to the Golden Horseshoe, and from Kawarthas to Lake Huron. “We expect an overall nasty cold day,” said Arnold Ashton. Ashton is with Environment Canada.
